At the Edge of the Year

Closing the year gently. Opening the next with care.

As the Gregorian year comes to a close, I’ve been paying attention to how little the natural world is asking of us right now.

The trees are bare (except for our beloved evergreens).
The soil is resting.
Growth hasn’t stopped—it’s simply happening underground, out of view.

This season reminds us that endings don’t need to be dramatic, and beginnings don’t need to be rushed. Nature doesn’t hurry toward January, it doesn’t even know what January is.

It lingers. It listens. It waits until conditions are right.

I’m carrying that same intention into the months ahead.

Rather than pushing forward with urgency, this winter at ZEN:MNM is shaped by slowing down, caring for ourselves, and intentional gathering.

January: Gentle Entry

In January, we’ll hold two small, indoor JYM Classes (Journal · Yoga · Meditate)—grounded workshops designed to support reflection, nervous system regulation, and connection without pressure or performance.

These gatherings blend gentle movement, guided meditation, reflective writing, and facilitated group discussion. They are an invitation to arrive as you are and begin the year with care.

January JYM Class dates:
Tuesday, January 13
Tuesday, January 27

February–March: Into the Light

Beginning in February, we’ll step into Into the Light, a bi-weekly forest therapy series meeting through March.

As the days slowly lengthen, this series offers guided, trauma-informed nature immersion to support rest, regulation, and reconnection. Rather than rushing toward change, we’ll practice moving in relationship with the gradual return of light.

Into the Light is for those who want a different way to begin again—one rooted in presence rather than productivity.

A Seasonal Invitation

If either of these offerings feels supportive for where you are right now, you’re warmly invited.

As this year closes, my hope—for myself and for this community—is not a list of resolutions, but the grace to move at a pace that feels honest and sustainable.

You create (be)st when you’re well.

Be well,
Miranda
