The Sounds of Afrolitical Movement

It's the last week of production for The Sounds of Afrolitical Movement at the Portland Playhouse. ZEN:MNM's Marcus Lattimore makes his debut in theatre as Ogun, the deity of war and iron in Yoruba and other West African religions.

Save a seat at the Portland Playhouse this Wednesday through Sunday to catch Marcus and a multitude of other talented artists as they guide you through each movement, ending Sunday with a Congo Circle marketplace in the courtyard.

More about the show:

  • The Sounds of Afrolitical Movement is NOT a play, it is a transformative interactive experience where the audience is invited to participate in movements like song, dance, stillness and protest

  • Each day begins with three movements, followed by an additional movement that varies based on the day. See the Portland Playhouse website for the different themes

  • This week's BIPOC shows are Thursday and Saturday. Black, Indigenous and People of Color are invited to join a space that centers them on a pay-what-you-wish basis, starting at $5 per ticket

We hope to see you there this week!
